On this day: The HMS Hood in 1924

HMS Hood, the largest battlecruiser ever built, in Australia on 17th March 1924. Commissioned by the Royal Navy in 1920, and named for an 18th century admiral by the name of Samuel Hood, the Hood was in service from 1920 to 1941.
