Elvis Presley met US President Richard Nixon in the Oval Office of the White House on the 21st of December, 1970.
A few years later
Nixon resigned following his involvement in the Watergate scandal. Presley died in August of 1977.

Australian Ballet dancers outside the theatre in in Canberra’s city centre in October, 1970. The protests eventually gave way to a strike. The dancers were successful in causing an overhaul of the pay structure.
